FAQs
What is OneSun Solar?
OneSun Solar is a company committed to solving energy reliability issues by offering off-grid solar solutions. We make solar power accessible through a flexible rent-to-own model that aligns with your monthly electricity costs.
How can businesses partner with OneSun Solar?
We collaborate with businesses to offer solar solutions as an employee benefit through our rent-to-own initiative, as well as custom energy solutions for operational needs. Contact us to explore partnership opportunities tailored to your organisation.
How does the rent-to-own program work?
Our rent-to-own program allows you to enjoy solar energy with just a small deposit and affordable monthly payments, comparable to your current electricity bill. After 15 years, the solar system becomes yours at no extra cost.
Why should I choose solar energy over a diesel generator?
Our solar solutions are ideal for households, small businesses, and larger organisations looking to eliminate power outages, reduce energy costs, and move toward sustainable energy.
Which appliances are not suitable for use with a solar system?
High-energy appliances like electric ovens, stoves, heaters, air conditioners, and traditional electric water heaters are generally unsuitable for smaller or medium-sized solar systems due to their significant power demands. Appliances with high startup power, such as microwaves and kettles, can also strain smaller systems. To maximise efficiency, we recommend using energy-efficient appliances like LED lighting, energy-rated refrigerators, and gas-powered alternatives for cooking and heating. For tailored advice, consult OneSun Solar to ensure your system is designed to handle your specific needs.
System Features and Capabilities
What is an off-grid solar system?
An off-grid solar system operates independently of the national power grid, storing energy in batteries to provide power at any time—day or night. It’s perfect for areas with unreliable electricity or for reducing reliance on grid energy.
What sizes of solar systems do you offer?
We offer three system sizes to suit different needs:
3.5kW System: Great for households with minimal power requirements.
5kW System: Ideal for larger homes or small businesses with moderate energy needs.
10kW System: Designed for large homes or businesses with higher power demands.
Can I upgrade my system later if my energy needs change?
Yes, our systems are designed to be scalable. You can add components or upgrade to a larger system if your energy requirements increase.
How long do the solar panels last?
The solar panels we provide come with a 30-year warranty, ensuring long-term performance and reliability.
Installation and Maintenance
How long does installation take?
Installation time depends on the system size and type, but most systems are installed and operational within 1–3 days.
Who handles the installation?
Our team of certified technicians will handle the entire installation process, ensuring everything is set up safely and efficiently.
Costs and Payment Options
What maintenance is required for the solar system?
Our systems are low-maintenance. We recommend cleaning the solar panels periodically to remove dust and debris. We also provide ongoing support and guidance for optimal performance.
Do my monthly payments change based on usage?
No, your monthly payments remain fixed regardless of how much electricity you use. This ensures predictable and consistent costs for your energy needs.
How much does it cost to switch to solar?
Yes! If you’re among the first 100 customers, you’ll own your solar system outright after completing your 10-year lease—at no additional cost.
What happens if I can’t keep up with payments?
We understand that financial difficulties can arise, so we encourage you to contact us if you’re unable to make a payment. However, if you do not contact us and miss three payments, you forfeit your right to keep the system, and we reserve the right to remove the system from your property.
